BINTULU: RHB Bank Berhad Sarawak Region has allocated a fund of RM250,000 to help 500 Heads of Households (KIR) throughout Sarawak who were affected by the recent floods.
Director of RHB Bank Berhad Sarawak Region, Mohammad Tony Ong Abdullah, said each affected KIR will receive cash assistance of RM500 as an immediate step to ease their burden.
“In addition to financial assistance, RHB also provides various other forms of support to help affected customers and communities,” he said in a statement.
He added that this initiative aims to help individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as micro SMEs in the post-flood recovery process.
Mohammad Tony also encouraged affected customers to contact the bank for assistance.
“We hope this donation can provide some relief to those affected by this disaster,” he said while speaking at the RHB Bank Berhad Bintulu branch handover ceremony on Sunday.
A total of 200 KIR who were affected by the floods around Bintulu received help delivered by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.
In the meantime, Mohammad Tony also affirmed his commitment to ensure that affected customers and communities receive the necessary support to help them recover from the effects of the natural disaster.
