KUCHING: A local man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment following a collision along Jalan Stutong here early this morning.
Kuching Police chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said the accident, which involved a Honda RS-X motorcycle and a Proton Wira vehicle, happened at around 4:10 am.
Preliminary investigations found that the victim was riding the motorcycle from Stutong roundabout to Tabuan Tranquility traffic light before his motorcycle veered into the opposite lane and collided into the oncoming car.
“The victim, who is in his 20s, was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the Red Zone.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said, adding that the driver escaped unharmed.

Alexson also reminded road users to always exercise caution and obey traffic rules to ensure their own safety and that of others.
