MUKAH: A plantation worker was killed after his motorcycle rear-ended a broken-down lorry along Jalan Ladang Rinwood Pelita Mukah Plantation last night (Oct 21).
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the fatal crash occurred at around 8 pm when the 21-year-old, who was riding alone from Rumah Kenyana 1, collided with the stationary lorry on the road.
“The impact caused the rider to suffer severe head and chest injuries.
“He was rushed to Mukah Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead at 9pm by the attending medical officer,” he said in a statement.
Rizal urged those with information on the accident to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting the investigating officer Insp Mohd Rahmat Jalimin at 013-682137 or the nearest police station.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
