SIBU: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after crashing into the rear of a five-tonne lorry along Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce last night (Feb 17).
Civil Defence Force (APM) Sibu district officer Major Wan Mohd Jabir Wan Mohd Badrudin said one of their teams, which was returning to the office, came across the accident scene at 7.25 pm.
“The victim was found unconscious and covered in blood. One of the two dentists at the scene attempted to resuscitate him, but there was no response.
“Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced him dead at 7.51 pm,” he said.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Zakaria Latif. His body was handed over to the police for further action.
