BAU: Traffic police issued a total of 12 summonses against motorcyclists for various offences during an enforcement operations over the weekend.
Dubbed ‘Ops Motosikal’, it was held from Oct 25 to 26 between 10 pm and 2 am, with focus around Bau town, Jalan Singai, Jalan Buso, Jalan Krokong, Jalan Serasot, Jalan Stass, Jalan Musi and Jalan Sibuluh.
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said a total of 20 motorcycles and 25 individuals were inspected during the operation.
“From there, traffic police issued 12 summonses for various offences, all involving motorcycles.
“They included missing side mirrors (four), non-compliant licence plates (three), failure to wear a helmet (two), riding without a valid licence (two), and failure to display the ‘P’ sticker (one),” he said.

Haide added that no arrests, seizures or confiscations were made in the operation.
In light of this, all road users, especially motorcyclists, are advised to always comply with traffic laws and prioritise their personal safety.
He also urged parents to play their part in monitoring their children to prevent them from engaging in illegal street activities.
