KUCHING: ‘Rioh Raya’ a music video collaboration between young and veteran local artistes saw its exclusive screening at the ‘Sekoh Raya: Tang Raya Jak Siya’ pop-up event here on Sunday.
Involving artistes Arabyrd, Ila Damiaa and Safar Ghafar, the song blends the old with the new in celebration of culture and tradition during Hari Raya.
“Our main goal in creating this song was to offer something fun and full of the Raya spirit,” said Arabyrd.
“I wanted to create a song that gives people a ‘feel-good’ vibe without relying on the usual ‘viral’ formula or sampling old choruses with a modern twist.
“So, Ila, Safar and I worked together to create an original song. Once it was completed, we submitted it to Universal Music Malaysia, and we are grateful they accepted it,” she said.
From songwriting to music video production, the entire process involved Sarawakian talents.
“We also wanted to bring together creative energy and various brands from Sarawak natives in a special video to celebrate Aidilfitri,” she said.
“This is not just for the Malay community but also involves friends from different ethnicities and cultures.”
‘Rioh Raya’ carries the message that Hari Raya is not just about returning to one’s hometown but also about celebrating joy together.
With its cheerful and catchy rhythm, the song is expected to enliven the Aidilfitri atmosphere across Malaysia, particularly in Sarawak.
The music video was directed by Koh Khai, a young and talented director, while the song was produced by rapper Emansushii.
The track was fully recorded at AOK Records under Emansushii’s production, while the music video was produced by ASA ESA FILMS, with project management handled by GFX Enterprise.
