SERIAN: Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem, who has found renewed strength in the growing involvement in politics of Chinese women in his constituency, declared he was ready for war.
Thanking the women for their support recently the Human Resources Minister said he is now even more confident of a bigger majority in the coming general election (GE14).
Speaking at a closed door meeting with his election lieutenants at his election operations room in Kampung Pichin, he reiterated that he was battle-ready.
Pointing to an elaborate campaign chart on the walls of the operations room, the six-term MP said: “I am ready for war.”
He said he is a political veteran and he knows how best to face GE14.
“Bring on the fight. It does not matter from whichever opposition party, my main aim is to humble my opponents at the polls.
“I will win, and that is for sure. But I want to do more. I want to make sure whoever stands against me and the BN in Serian, he will lose his deposit.
“I may well be able to do that, which should cap my political career for Serian, for the state and country,” he said
He said reports from the ground indicated support for him among the Dayaks was intact.
“If the display of support from the Chinese women is for real, I will deliver Serian in style,” he added.
