KUCHING: The Riverside Majestic Hotel invites guests to embark on a culinary journey steeped in tradition with its Sungkei Ria Ramadhan Buffet at the Puteri Wing and Al-Mubarak Buffet Dinner at the Astana Wing from March 1 to 30.
Curated by Chef Amiruddin Jafar, who brings 33 years of culinary expertise, the buffet promises a diverse selection of traditional Malaysian dishes at the hotel’s Astana Wing and Puteri Wing, each offering a distinct dining concept.
“At Puteri Wing, we have a night market-inspired theme, while Astana Wing features a fishing village concept with decor reflecting coastal charm.
“Every dish we prepare is deeply rooted in Malaysian heritage, from Sabah and Sarawak to Peninsular Malaysia,” Amiruddin said.
Among the highlighted dishes are Telur Itik Masak Lemak Cili Api (duck eggs in spicy coconut gravy), a rare delicacy; Nasi Goreng Kerabu from Kelantan and Nasi Briyani Gam from Johor; and Melaka’s signature Asam Pedas, served in different variations daily.
Other highlights include Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Paru Masak Belado, and freshly made traditional kueh prepared live by hotel staff dressed in cultural attire.
Guests can also indulge in Sarawak’s iconic Bubur Pedas, a rich and flavourful porridge available every day throughout Ramadan.
Amiruddin and his team spent four months crafting the menu to ensure an authentic, immersive dining experience.

With daily menu rotations offering new flavours each night, the Sungkai Ria and Al-Mubarak Buffets promise a fresh dining experience for every visit.
