PADAWAN: A total allocation of RM1.33 million will be channelled to Kampung Bratan and its surrounding areas to strengthen infrastructure and drive social and economic development for the local community.
Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Roads) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the funding will focus on three key areas expected to directly benefit the well-being of the people and promote environmental sustainability.
“RM1 million has been allocated for deepening and maintenance works along Sungai Sembuh, a critical project to address frequent flash floods affecting Kampung Bratan, Rabak Asah, Simboh, Sikog, and Bawang,” he said during the 6th Anniversary Celebration of the Kampung Bratan Women’s Bureau recently.
In addition, he said RM300,000 under the 2025 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Mambong constituency has been set aside to upgrade the multipurpose hall in Kampung Bratan Asah.
Dr Jerip, who is also Mambong assemblyman, said the first phase includes installing a giant fan worth RM100,000 to improve user comfort. Another RM200,000 will go toward installing roller shutters and a large LED screen, transforming the facility into a modern and versatile community hub.
He also pledged RM30,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation to support social and welfare activities by the Kampung Bratan Women’s Bureau, which plays a vital role in driving social engagement and community development.
“This funding reflects our commitment not only to enhance physical infrastructure but also to strengthen social cohesion and improve the quality of life in rural areas,” he added.
He expressed hope that these efforts would help build community resilience against environmental challenges while empowering residents to take a more active role in their local development.
