KUCHING: A total of RM1.77 million in Rural Minor Project (MRP) funds has been allocated to 86 recipients in the Tasik Biru constituency.

According to a report by UKAS, the allocation, made under the Special Project Monitoring System (SPMS) Series 1/2026, is intended to support the implementation of various community programmes and activities.

Deputy Minister for Transport Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said that the allocation is part of the government’s continuous efforts to strengthen community development and support grassroots activities.

“I hoped that the funds would be fully utilised by recipients to carry out programmes that benefit the local community, in line with the objectives of the original applications.”

He said this when presenting the grant cheques during a ceremony held at the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) Hall in Bau today.

The recipients include Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), houses of worship, associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), as well as staff clubs from government agencies in the area.
