KOTA PADAWAN: The RM100 assistance for every child enrolling in TASKA and TADIKA or early childhood education institutions (IPAKK) across Sarawak will be given out this coming April.

Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the direct assistance is given to parents that are facing issues in paying for their children’s registration fees at the IPAKK.

She said that the grant had been implemented for more than five years, but subsequently reviewed to examine how the implementation can be done in such a way that it is fully utilised.

“We have been reviewing the grant since last year, and while most of it remains the same, such as the RM5,000 allocation to IPAKK, providing healthy balanced food to the students, and improving professionalism among the teachers by providing them with training courses, the only small upgrade that we made is the direct assistance to the parents.

“We do not want parents to face any difficulty in paying for the registration fees, and if that happens, it could cause complication for the TASKA and TADIKA.

“While the new component has been implemented last month, the payment will begin this coming April.

“So, it is a win-win situation for all parties involved,” she said.

She was met by reporters after attending the Ziarah Sumbangsih Raya 2025 at Puncak Borneo Prison here today.

Earlier in her speech, Fatimah stated that the registration assistance of RM100 is provided for each child who registered early at the TADIKA and TASKA.

“The assistance is specifically for younger parents, especially those who have more than one child, that are not just in primary or secondary schools, but also children that are in TASKA and TADIKA, they are qualified for the assistance as well.

“Because we understand, other than the registration fees, parents also need other financial sources in order for them to be able to buy books or study materials for their children.

“Initiative such as this is being implemented in order to assist the parents and ease their burden,” she added.
