KUCHING: Eighteen Sarawak lion dance teams will vie for a RM10,000 prize at the 4th Lee Onn Group Challenge Cup, taking place at Aeroville Mall on Dec 6 and 7.
The event marks the fourth and final leg of the Sarawak Traditional Southern Lion Dance League 2025 and is sanctioned by the Dragon & Lion Dances Federation of Malaysia.
Organisers from the Chinese Martial Art Association (CMAA) said lion dance enthusiasts can expect vibrant and skillful performances starting at 11 am on both days, with free seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“At a recent sponsorship handover ceremony held at the competition venue, Pemancha Tan Kun Gee, CEO of Aeroville Mall and Advisor to the Chinese Martial Art Association (CMAA), presented the sponsorship funds to CMAA treasurer and Championship Technical chairman Nelson Nguang Kim Ban, alongside deputy technical chairman Calvin Kong Nyon Chung.
“Joining Tan were Aeroville Mall officials Alicia Ling, Jennifer Chua, and Vincent, underscoring the mall’s strong support for cultural and community events,” it added.
