MUKAH: A development project worth RM100 million will be implemented in the Tellian state constituency, serving as a key catalyst for the socioeconomic transformation of the area.

Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine affirmed his commitment to bringing significant changes to Mukah.
“Although there are many challenges to face, especially since this is my first term, development in this administrative centre will nonetheless be carried out.
“Undoubtedly, these developments will benefit the public, particularly the people of Mukah,” he said.
He made these remarks during the Hari Raya Gathering in conjunction with the Jiwa@Komuniti Madani Programme at the Kampung Datuk Hall, here, on Thursday night.
Elaborating further, he said that one of the main projects to be implemented is the RM40 million riverbank erosion control project in Kampung Datuk, which is expected to begin in the middle of next year.
He explained that the project is being carefully planned to ensure that its construction does not affect the villagers’ daily lives, thereby avoiding the need for relocation.

“Under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA), five major projects have also been identified and are planned for implementation with allocations exceeding RM100 million.
“These include the Mukah Riverbank Development Project, for which a consultant has already been appointed and preliminary work is underway.
“In addition, the Mukah Integrated Market Project will consolidate the wet market, food court, and multi-storey parking at the site of the old Mukah market. There is also a proposed Kaul Food Court Project, with a RM25 million allocation to provide stalls and parking facilities,” he explained.
Moreover, the Anjung Ria Senaga Project, to be developed at Senaga Beach, Petanak, will include the construction of stalls for visitors and tourists.
Also in the pipeline is the RM20 million Kuala Petanak Erosion Control Project, aimed at protecting the coastal area from ongoing erosion.
Royston said all these projects will significantly boost physical development and enhance the standard of living for local residents through expanded economic and employment opportunities.
Accordingly, he stressed the importance of strong cooperation between the government, implementing agencies, and grassroots leaders such as community and village chiefs (KMKK) to ensure the smooth execution of the projects.
At the same event, he also announced allocations for Komuniti Madani Kampung Datuk, the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Kampung Datuk branch, and the Kampung Datuk Neighbourhood Watch (KRT), each of which received RM3,000.
