MIRI: A total of RM139,000 in funding has been approved under Phase 4 of the 2025 allocation for non-Muslim houses of worship in the Piasau state constituency.
The funds were approved for two recipients in Piasau.
The Full Gospel Church Miri Branch Sarawak received RM90,000 to upgrade its audio-visual infrastructure, including a full audio system, LED screen and live streaming, and broadcasting facilities.
Separately, the Evangelical Missionary Church of Borneo, BEM Miri District, was allocated RM49,000 for office equipment to strengthen its administrative capacity.
The cheques were presented on Sunday (Feb 1) at a simple event by Piasau state assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, who is also the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts.
The allocation forms part of the Sarawak Government’s continued support for the upkeep and development of non-Muslim religious institutions, aimed at improving facilities and enabling better community engagement at the grassroots level.
Piasau is among several constituencies benefiting from the Phase 4 disbursement under the 2025 programme.
