SARATOK: A cash prize of RM15,000 awaits the top angler in a fishing competition in conjunction with the opening of SGB Fishing Pond at Sungai Brangan, near here, on May 11.
The competition is jointly organised by the management of SGB Fishing Pond and Agun Fishing Pond.
In this five-hour competition, which will take place from 9am, the runner-up will receive RM3,000 while third place takes home RM1,500.
Fourth and fifth place anglers will each receive RM500.
Meanwhile, participants finishing in sixth to 10th place will receive RM300 each.
Those placing in 11th to 150th will walk away with RM200 each.
Each participant is required to pay a fee of RM120 per fishing rod.
For the jackpot category, a fee of RM10 per slot applies, and participants who manage to land the heaviest five- and six-kg catch will each receive RM1,000.
Fishing enthusiasts can register now by paying a deposit of RM50 per slot or making a full payment of RM120.
The deposit is non-refundable if the participant is unable to attend on competition day.
The deadline for online payments (account transfer) is set for May 9, while cash payments can be made before the competition starts on May 11.
