MIRI: The MADANI Adopted Village (KAM) project in Kampung Piasau Utara costing RM1 million has been completed successfully with scope adjustments to maximise impact and benefit the entire community.
Digital Ministry secretary-general Fabian Bigar said the initiative is one of the government’s efforts to ensure balanced development between urban and rural areas.
“The Ministry is strongly committed not only to advancing technology but also to improving basic infrastructure and overall living standards for rural residents.
“So, I am pleased to inform you that the MADANI Adopted Village Project in Kampung Piasau Utara has been successfully completed and delivered smoothly.
“Indeed, the project underwent scope adjustments to ensure broader impact and greater benefits for the entire community of Kampung Piasau Utara,” he said during the Digital Ministry’s 2025 Madani Adopted Village (KAM) handover ceremony at Kampung Piasau Utara here today (Dec 9).
He also said that that the project marked the start of more dynamic, sustainable and digitally aligned socioeconomic development in the area.
The project, valued at RM1 million, included major infrastructure upgrades such as the refurbishment of Masjid Darul Hijrah, Holy Rosary Chapel, and the Kampung Piasau Utara Multi-Purpose Hall, key centres for religious and community activities.
He added that safety improvements were also implemented, including the installation of solar-powered LED street lights to enhance visibility, safety and comfort at night.
“In addition, a new funeral van has been provided to support bereavement management, while equipment for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) was handed over to strengthen its administration and community activities.
“I sincerely hope that these new facilities will be well-maintained and fully utilised by all residents of Kampung Piasau Utara,” he added.
As a gesture of appreciation to the residents, he said that the Ministry organised the AI For My Future Course on Monday (Dec 8) at the NADI Multi-Purpose Hall, Kampung Piasau Utara.
“The course aimed to provide the community with early exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), safe and responsible usage practices, and how the technology can simplify daily life.
“I truly hope that the villagers benefited from the training session,” he said.
