KUCHING: A total of RM200,000 from the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) has been allocated for the development of the Rabak Smoba Recreation Park in Kampung Semeba.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang said, this will finance the construction of a reservoir along the river to regulate water levels at Lubuk Semeba, enhancing the habitat for various fish species.
He further stated that improvements, including the erection of a fence, the establishment of a parking area, and the construction of a new jetty, are planned.
Lo said this during the recent opening ceremony of the Rabak Smoba Recreation Park here.
He also noted that the park’s refurbishment and the creation of a waste collection centre would be community-led initiatives.
“The Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Semeba’s Development and Infrastructure Bureau will oversee all the construction and renovation activities,” Lo added.
He also promised the addition of jogging paths and mountain biking trails, aiming to draw more visitors to enjoy the park’s natural beauty.
Also present was Kampung Semeba village chief Thomas Gown.
