RM31,000 lost in wee hours robbery

MIRI: Three men armed with iron rods and machetes barged into a container office in Sepupok in the wee hours of Thursday.

During the incident, there was one male staff inside the container office.

No injuries were reported in the 1.50am incident, but one drawer with RM31,000 inside was carried off by the robbers.

The male staff could not do much as he was threatened with death.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted confirmed receiving a report lodged by the officer manager on the incident.

The office has been in existence since 2017, managing and purchasing oil palm fruits around the area.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 and Section 397 for gang robbery and committing robbery using weapons.
