SRI AMAN: Residents in and around Hulu Sungai Raya Ibol now have a newly completed concrete bridge to use. The bridge that cost RM370,000 was declared open recently by Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who believed that the  structure would help ease travel for the locals and improve their economy.

“The farmers can easily go to and from their orchards or markets using the bridge. Their journeys will be easier and shorter,” he told reporters.

Harden, who is also Simanggang assemblyman, explained that the Sarawak government was always aware of the people’s needs regardless of their political leanings.

Longhouse chief, Ringgit Bayang, thanked Harden and the state government for building the bridge and advised the villagers not to waste their votes on polling day as it could cause trouble for them in future.
