NGEMAH: Infrastructure projects, including a RM4.5 million ferry service and the construction of a new road, continue to drive development and improve the well-being of residents in the Ngemah constituency.
Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana said the ferry facility has brought significant benefits to the local community, particularly in terms of connectivity and daily economic activities.
“The ferry service has eased the movement of residents and improved access between areas, thereby supporting the sustainability of economic activities in Ngemah.
“This effort is in line with the government’s commitment to ensure that basic amenities provided have a direct and meaningful impact on the people’s lives,” he said during the Chinese New Year Ngabang programme here on Wednesday (Feb 18) as reported by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).
Anyi said another development project, which is the construction of a seven-kilometre road at Simpang Nanga Jagau, will be implemented soon under the Mid Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA).
“The road project is expected to enhance accessibility and facilitate the daily affairs of residents, while supporting phased development in Ngemah,” he said.
At the same time, Anyi stressed that community programmes such as the Chinese New Year Ngabang play an important role in preserving unity and harmony among the multi-racial population in the area.
“Such programmes not only strengthen ties but also serve as a platform to enhance cooperation between leaders and the people in a harmonious setting,” he said.
During the event, Anyi also announced an allocation of RM3,000 to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) for the purchase of a public address system.
