MERADONG: Work on Bintangor Recreational Park’s RM4 million facelift is underway.
According to an UKAS report, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the implementation of the project under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) also plays a role in enhancing the appearance of Bintangor town while having the potential to attract more visitors.
During a working visit to review the progress of the project for the second time following the project site handover ceremony on Jan 5, he inspected several key components of the project, including the public toilet facilities which have been upgraded to improve visitors’ comfort.
He said the visit was intended to ensure that the project is progressing smoothly in line with the plan, as well as to personally assess the upgrading works currently being carried out.
In addition, improvement works on the park’s main road circuit are being carried out to ensure user safety, particularly for recreational activities such as walking and jogging.
Also drawing attention is the construction of new structures such as the Red Bridge, which is expected to become an iconic attraction of the park, as well as a stage in the middle of the park to support various community activities and social programmes.
At the same time, the development of a children’s playground is underway as part of efforts to provide more family-friendly recreational facilities.
Ding stressed that the project is among the important initiatives to strengthen public facilities in rural areas while providing long-term benefits to the community.
He also expressed hope that all parties involved would ensure the project is completed on schedule while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
