PADAWAN: Rural communities in the Mambong constituency are set to benefit from a series of infrastructure upgrades worth RM400,000, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance basic amenities and spur local development.

Among the key initiatives is the upgrading of the Kampung Semban Multipurpose Hall, funded under the 2024 Rural Transformation Project (RTP) with an allocation of RM100,000.

The project is being implemented by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), which serves as the executing agency.

In a related development, a site handover ceremony was held for the road resurfacing project connecting BRS to Kampung Giam Lama. This project, also worth RM100,000, falls under the 2025 RTP.

Two more projects have been greenlit with similar funding — the upgrading of the Ladies Guild Operations Room in Kampung Braang Timurang and the renovation of the priest’s residence at St Paul’s Church in Bunuk.

The recent site handovers were witnessed by Keron Mapus, Special Administrative Officer to the Deputy Minister of Transport and Mambong assemblyman, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

These projects are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for residents, enhance access to essential services, and promote inclusive development in the constituency’s rural areas.
