KUCHING: The “Run to Save Lives 5.0” charity run, organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Kuching District, is set to take place at the MBKS foyer on June 22, with the flag-off scheduled at 6am.
The event, now in its fifth edition, has already gathered over 2,300 registered participants. The run will include two categories: 3km and 5km.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian will officiate the run, accompanied by distinguished guests, including Kuching South City Council mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, and MRCS Kuching chairman Datuk Dr Abang Abdul Rauf Abang Zain.
The event has also attracted generous support from sponsors, who have contributed not only financial aid but also products and services, including hotel and food vouchers, electrical appliances, and refreshments for runners.
Participants will stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes worth RM4,600 on race day.
Yap has once again pledged RM10,000 to assist with the production of finishing medals, marking his second consecutive year backing the “Run to Save Lives” initiative.
The MRCS Kuching expressed heartfelt appreciation for his continued commitment to community welfare.
Participants are reminded to collect their race packs on June 20 and 21 at the MRCS Kuching office, located at Reservoir Park.
