DALAT: A total of 38 homes here received assistance for home repairs under the Minor Rural Projects-Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Programme (MRP-PPRMS) Phase 1 for 2025.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the total allocation for the MRP-PPRMS in this area amounts to RM491,000.
“This assistance comes from the Sarawak Government and demonstrates the government’s commitment to helping its people in the state.
“The total number of recipients in Dalat from 2024 until today is 470 people, with a total allocation of RM6,473,000,” she said.
She said this during a press conference after the MRP-PPRMS Phase 1 Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Dalat constituency at the Dalat Welfare Complex today.
She further explained that she hoped the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) would collaborate to ensure smooth repair works.
She stated that at least one home in each JKKK area should receive PPRMS assistance.
In this regard, Fatimah, who is also Dalat Assemblywoman, also presented appointment and extension certificates to the Community and Village Chiefs (KMKK) in the Dalat area.
She expressed confidence that the appointed and extended KMKK members would always be committed to performing their duties.
In addition, she shared insights on meetings addressing issues of poverty and unemployment within the Dalat DUN community.
She mentioned that there are still 161 household heads categorized as poor, but efforts are being made to ensure these individuals move out of poverty through available assistance.
On the topic of unemployment, she said they would collaborate with other agencies to empower the youth and reduce unemployment in the area.
