BINTANGOR: A RM4 million upgrading project will be carried out at Taman Rekreasi Bintangor to improve public facilities and amenities in the area.
Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the first phase of the project, implemented under the Rural Area Development Development Agency (RADDA), was expected to take about 10 months to complete.
“The council will monitor the progress of works from time to time to ensure the contractor completes the project according to the stipulated schedule,” he was quoted as saying in a TVS’ report.
He said this during the project handover ceremony here yesterday (Jan 5).
As such, Ding advised members of the public to temporarily refrain from using the recreational park during the construction period for safety reasons and to utilise facilities available at nearby complexes instead.
Additionally, he said the scope of works included upgrading public toilets, the clubhouse and jogging tracks within the park.
“Upgrade works will also involve repairs to small bridges, including the red mini bridge located inside the park,” he said.
Ding added that the project also included the construction of an arena-style stage with a roof to support sports, exercise and community activities.
“The children’s playground facilities are also included in the upgrading works to ensure the park remains suitable for families and visitors of all ages,” he said.
Ding assured that if there was any surplus from the allocated budget, additional components might be considered to further enhance the facilities at Taman Rekreasi Bintangor.
