KUCHING: The Mr Keling Borneo International 2025 will see around 100 athletes vying for a total cash prize of RM54,800 on Saturday, May 17.
The participating athletes include representatives from PDRM (12), ATM (13), Sabah (8), Brunei Darussalam (9), Thailand (1), Vietnam (1), Kalimantan, Indonesia (8), Sarawak (30), Singapore (1), and West Malaysia (20).
Enterprise manager of the competition, Buda Anchah, said the event will take place at Summer Mall, Kota Samarahan, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, with registration scheduled for Friday, May 16.
“On registration day, athletes will undergo weight and height checks, and will be provided with official attire and accessories to be worn during the competition,” he said.
Buda made these remarks during a press conference at the Baitulmakmur Building II today.
“The preliminary rounds will take place on Saturday morning, followed by the finals starting at 3:00 pm, which will be officiated by Datuk Snowdan Lawan, representing the Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak as the event collaborator.
“The event promises an action-packed day, showcasing not only athleticism but also Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage, with special activities such as cultural performances,” he added.
He also noted that the exciting event will feature various categories, including men’s sports physique, men’s athletic physique, and men’s bodybuilding.
He added that the athletes will also compete for the highly coveted ‘Champion of Champions’ title, awarded to the best overall athlete across all categories.
