MUKAH: Six mega projects are set to be developed in the constituency in stages, paving the way for infrastructure and economic growth in the area.

Tellian assemblyman, Royston Valentine, said among the major projects is the much-anticipated new Mukah Waterfront, valued at RM60 million, which is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026.

The project is currently in the consultant appointment phase.

He added that the Batang Mukah Riverbank Rehabilitation Project between Sungai Penakub and Sungai Tellian, valued at RM40 million, is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

“These developments reflect our commitment to meeting the needs of the community, especially through the improvement of public facilities and local economic opportunities,” he said during the launch of Kaul Mukah 2025 at Pantai Kala Dana here today.

Four other major projects are also being planned under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADA), including the RM40-million Mukah Integrated Market, which will feature a multi-storey car park, wet and dry markets, food court, and dedicated areas for handicraft vendors.

Two other projects, namely Anjung Ria Senaga Mukah and Medan Selera Kala Dana Mukah, with allocations of RM25 million and RM13 million respectively, are set to benefit small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.

“These projects will provide recreational spaces for the community, business opportunities for small entrepreneurs, and multipurpose facilities for events such as weddings, conferences and other large gatherings,” he added.

In addition, the RM20-million Petanak Coastal Erosion Control Project, also under RADA, is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

On basic infrastructure development, Royston noted that treated water supply projects and road network upgrades are being actively carried out in Mukah to benefit longhouse residents and rural settlements.
