SERIAN: A total of RM690,000 has been allocated to support 57 recipients comprising Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), clubs, and associations in the Tarat Constituency under the 2025 Special Projects initiative.

Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said the government remains committed to ensuring that rural communities continue to benefit from development, particularly through the implementation of Special Projects tailored to local needs.

“Through this approach, we are not only giving out funds but also empowering local communities to plan and carry out development projects that meet their actual needs,” said the Tarat assemblyman.

He said this during a cheque presentation ceremony held at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tarat Branch Service Centre on Sunday (Jul 13).

At the same event, funds under the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) were also presented to two non-Muslim houses of worship as part of Phase 1 of the 2025 fund.

St Damian Church in Kampung Sarig here received RM100,000 for infrastructure upgrading works, while St Andrew Chapel in Kampung Skuduk, Siburan was allocated RM80,000 for repairs, upgrading works, and purchase of church equipment.
