TANJONG MANIS: A total of RM7 million has been allocated through the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) to upgrade agricultural roads in the Rajang, Belawai, and Jerijih areas, aiming to strengthen the agricultural sector and improve the wellbeing of rural residents.

Tanjong Manis MP Datuk Yusuf Abdul Wahab said that the implementation of these projects is expected to bring significant benefits to farmers by providing more comfortable and safer road access to their respective farm plots.

According to him, improved infrastructure will allow farm produce to be transported out faster and in larger quantities for marketing, thereby increasing productivity and household income.

“When farm output increases, the residents’ income will indirectly rise as well, providing a positive impact on the local economy,” he said during the ‘Majlis Bersama Pemimpin’ event in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Rajang Community Hall recently.

In the meantime, he also advised the public to practise prudent spending due to global economic uncertainties following conflicts in the Middle East, which have led to rising oil prices and subsequently affected market prices for goods.

He noted that this situation is expected to put pressure on daily expenditures and increase the government’s financial commitments in addressing current challenges.
