KUCHING: Several road closures and detours will be implemented in Kuching and Padawan districts this weekend for the DBKU Road Race 2.0 and DBKU Criterium Race 3.0.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata, in a statement, said that the closures and detours would begin at 6 am on both days and last until the races concluded.

“The route from the Jalan Semerah Padi traffic light junction to the Bukit Siol roundabout will be completely closed.

“Meanwhile, the stretch from the Bomba Samariang traffic light to the Semerah Padi traffic light junction will experience partial closures during the period,” he said.

In light of this, members of the public are urged to take note of the closures to avoid traffic congestion.

“Alternative routes should be considered, and members of the public are advised to plan their journeys accordingly if they have business in the city. Please follow traffic control signs and instructions from officers on duty,” he said.
