SIBU: Several roads around Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phases 1 and 2 will be closed in conjunction with the 50th anniversary celebration of Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Group on May 12.

The affected roads include Lorong Kampung Datu 4 (behind Hotel Paramount), the inner lane of Jalan Lau King Howe (facing Phase 2 of the square), and partial access to the parking area behind Maybank and Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) Sibu.

Additionally, the covered car park and underground parking at Wisma Sanyan will also be closed to facilitate the event.

Organising chairman, Datuk Thomas Tieng Mee Tung, urged the public to attend the prestigious celebration, which will begin at 6:30 pm and be graced by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, as the guest of honour.

“The event will feature a special performance by popular Malaysian singer, Shila Amzah, a drone light show involving 330 drones, and Sarawak’s largest synchronised musical fireworks display lasting 12 minutes,” he said at a press conference today.
