KUCHING: The Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) will hold discussions with Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) to add more bus stops and improve public transportation related facilities around the city.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, said this matter has been brought to DBKU’s attention because bus operators have requested for more spaces in the area.

“MOTS will discuss with DBKU as this area falls under DBKU’s jurisdiction,” he told the press after inspecting and launching the BAS.MY buses at the Open Air Market, here today (March 5).

Meanwhile, Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) Sarawak chairman Michael Kong said a road map has been developed to identify bus stops along the 10 routes.

“Our side (CVLB) has already informed MOTS about this matter and will cooperate so that MOTS will act as a bridge with the state government, especially in assisting to upgrade or improve these bus stops,” said Kong.
