SIBU: A landslide occured at the main road to the longhouses at Sungai Pak Durin last Sunday.
According to the secretariat of the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), there are five longhouses using the road, namely Rumah Bonythis Geraman, Rumah Penghulu Sandom, Rumah Slyvester Ingon, Rumah Janang and Rumah Seli.
Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Sibu led by an officer and three APM personnel went to the site to do an inspection at 11.55am. They ended the inspection at 1. 02pm.
According to sources, the landslide was attributed to several days of downpours in the area. However, the road is still accessible to all vehicles so far.
More detailed assessment of the land structure requires assessment by the Public Works Department (JKR), said the source, adding that the condition was under control.
