KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) chief, Wilfred Yap was approached by those trading in the old 7th Mile Bazaar and hawkers trading in the market, recently.

They have asked for his assistance to request Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) to tar-seal the whole stretch of the road in front of a bus stop near the market between two traffic lights instead of doing it by piece meal as done previously.

Yap said the hawkers and traders further requested that the road by the side of Kota Sentosa town square to be tar- sealed due to the uneven road which causes it to be water logged at certain sections after it rained.

Following the request, Yap brought the predicament of the traders and hawkers to the attention of MPP and together with officers from MPP Engineering Department went to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to resolve the problem.

He was told by MPP officers from the Engineering Department that the tar-sealing works will commence as soon as they have measured and do the costing for the whole stretch of the road,.

Yap assured that he would continue to follow up and monitor the situation closely with MPP until the whole improvement works is completed.
