KUCHING: The four core pillars of the Green Mobility Innovation Summit (GMIS) 2025 have provided a roadmap for building greener and more sustainable society.

Sarawak Skills Development Centre (Sarawak Skills) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain said that green mobility is not merely a choice but a responsibility, and that platforms like this summit help to strengthen Sarawak readiness to lead.

“In Sarawak, our path is aligned with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) as we seek not only growth, but growth that is inclusive, low-carbon and anchored in innovation.

“Over these two days, under the theme “Driving the Future: Talent, Innovation & Sustainability in Green Mobility”, we have journeyed through important conversations on education and training, on technologies that redefine possibility, on governance that shapes progress, and on the power of global collaboration.

“These four pillars have not only framed our discussions but also offered us a roadmap towards building greener and more sustainable societies,” he said during the summit’s closing ceremony at Imperial Hotel here today (Sept 9).

Abdul Aziz added that opportunities for collaboration within the BIMP-EAGA region, collaboration in clean energy, electric mobility and smart systems can unlock benefits that extend well beyond transportation.

“This collaboration promises better livelihoods, stronger competitiveness, and above all, a sustainable environment for generations to inherit.

“And this summit is not merely a date on the calendar, but a milestone in an ongoing journey where we have witnessed the energy of collaboration, the depth of ideas, and the readiness of leaders and partners to act,” he added.

The summit attracted more than 750 delegates and featured over 30 international speakers, contributing their collective expertise.
More than 30 renowned speakers and moderators from ASEAN, the United Kingdom, China and Australia also participated, making the event a strategic platform for cross-border collaboration on eco-friendly transportation solutions.
GMIS 2025 was co-organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Sarawak Skills, and the BIMP-EAGA Secretariat, with support from strategic partners, government agencies and industry collaborators.
