MIRI: Three Indonesians were robbed by three men clad in blue outfits on early Friday morning.
The incident happened around 6am at a budget hotel along Jalan South Yu Seng.
The victim and two other friends were in a room when they heard knocks on the door.
According to sources, the victims thought that they were opening the door for the hotel’s staff.
The suspects then introduced themselves as police officers and said they were conducting a routine check. The victims were also shown badges belonging to police officers.
During the robbery, the “cops” demanded for the victims’ gold necklace worth RM1,300 and cash amounting to RM500 before fleeing the scene.
The victims were also allegedly assaulted by the suspects.
A police report was lodged by one of the victims.
