SIBU: Rohani Squad emerged as champions of the Sibu Antidrug Squad Closed Badminton Tournament, held at the Badminton Court, Scout Headquarters, Jalan Awang Ramli Amit here on Saturday.
Aktif Squad secured the runner-up position, while Prihatin Squad finished third and K.A.M.I. Squad came in fourth.
According to Sibu Antidrug Squad Deputy Chairman, Mohamad Mostapha Lasot, the tournament served as a positive platform to encourage members to adopt a healthy lifestyle, nurture talents, and foster recreational activities.
“It also provided an opportunity to disseminate information on the dangers and effects of drug abuse, while strengthening bonds among members, the local community, and strategic partners,” he said during the event.
He added that sporting activities are effective in maintaining fitness and preventing involvement in drug-related issues.
A total of 50 members from the Sibu Anti-Drug Squad participated in the tournament, which received support from various organisations, companies and individuals, including the Nangka Constituency Service Centre, All Badminton Combine (ABC), Maeltree Badminton Club, Rizqi Shop Enterprise, Nasi Ulam Sibu and Banner Murah Sibu.
