MIRI: All schools in this division are implementing a class rotation system to curb the spread of Covid-19.

After being closed for two weeks, schools here resumed today (Apr 5) under strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Under the system, Primary One, Two and Three pupils will go to school on Thursday and Friday. Primary Four, Five and Six pupils will have their classes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,” said Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin today after witnessing the commissioning of the new pedestrian traffic light in front of Riam Road Secondary School (RRSS) here.

Lee, who is also minister-in-charge of Miri Disaster Management Committee, appealed to all parents to cooperate as well as to ensure SOPs are being adhered to.

“Only send healthy children to school. Children with symptoms such as fever, cough, flu, sore throat and breathing difficulties should not be allowed to go to school, and should be taken for health screening,” he said.
