KUCHING: A total of 113 vehicles were inspected during an Ops Patuh enforcement carried out by the Road Transport Department (RTD) Motorcycle Enforcement Unit (FALCON) on Monday (Feb 9).
The operation was conducted through patrols and monitoring around the city and the vicinity of Sarawak General Hospital as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with road regulations, particularly offences involving illegal parking.
RTD Sarawak said among the offences detected was parking on yellow lines and in prohibited areas, which could obstruct traffic flow and affect access for emergency vehicles, especially near hospital zones.
The department advised road users to always comply with traffic laws and avoid parking in restricted areas to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety.
RTD Sarawak added that enforcement activities will continue from time to time as part of efforts to educate road users and raise public awareness on traffic compliance.
