KUCHING: The Road Transport Department (RTD) has taken firm action against a motorcycle found to have been modified in an extreme manner during Ops TBC 2026 here on Friday (Feb 20).
In a statement, the department said inspections on the motorcycle uncovered multiple offences, including the failure to display a front registration number, expired road tax, and the absence of insurance coverage.
Other violations detected included a non-compliant brake light, unauthorised exhaust modification, tyres not meeting specifications, and a rear registration plate that did not comply with regulations.
The motorcycle was also found to be without a rear brake, side mirrors, and the rider did not possess a valid driving licence.
RTD said such extreme modifications not only breach regulations but also pose safety risks to other road users.
It stressed that strict action would continue to be taken against those who fail to comply with vehicle specifications and road safety requirements.
