SIBU: The Sarawak Road Transport Department (RTD) held a dialogue session with lorry operators from the Sibu, Sarikei, Bintangor, and Sarawak Lorry Associations recently.
Chaired by Sarawak RTD deputy director Nor Azlan Ibrahim, the session covered key issues such as compliance with permitted load limits, technical matters, enforcement activities, and the latest regulations and legislation.

Nor Azlan said the session provided an opportunity for his department to understand the challenges faced by lorry operators and work towards solutions that align with current laws and regulations.
“Our goal is to establish a win-win situation where Sarawak JPJ can carry out enforcement more effectively, while industry players continue to comply with regulations in their business operations,” he said during the dialogue, held at the JPJ Sibu Branch Meeting Room here.
He added that similar sessions will be held twice a year and expanded to cover the northern and southern zones of Sarawak.
Also present was Sarawak JPJ’s Automotive Engineering Division Head Ahmad Abdul Hadi Hamzah, who discussed technical aspects of vehicles and the latest regulations.
Meanwhile, JPJ Sarawak’s Operations Section Head Saifullah Ali presented on enforcement activities conducted across the state.
The event was also attended by Sarikei JPJ Branch Head Yusuf Andan and Sibu JPJ Deputy Branch Head Nur Azmina Jacqualine Abdullah.
