KUCHING: A total of 14 vehicles were seized during Ops Motosikal conducted by the Road Transport Department (RTD) Kuching Operations Unit through patrol enforcement and monitoring around the city on Tuesday (Feb 10).
The operation also involved static inspections at Jalan Dato Haji Daud, Matang, covering both directions of traffic flow.
Throughout the operation, enforcement personnel inspected 903 vehicles comprising commercial and private vehicles.
Various offences were detected, including driving without a valid licence, absence of vocational licences, non-compliant registration numbers and technical vehicle offences that could compromise road safety.
In the same operation, the 14 vehicles comprising 10 motorcycles, two cars and two vans were seized after they were found to have expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM) and were not covered by valid insurance.
RTD advised motorists to ensure their driving licences, LKM and vehicle insurance are valid before using their vehicles.
The department also stressed that public cooperation is vital in ensuring the safety road users.
