KUCHING: A total of 23 luxury vehicles have been seized under Ops Luxury by the Sarawak Road Transport Department (RTD) since the beginning of this year for offences involving expired road tax and lack of valid insurance.
The department said the latest seizure involved a Ferrari during an operation by its Kuching enforcement unit along Jalan Datuk Daud on Sunday (Apr 5).
“The vehicle was found to have an expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) and no valid insurance coverage,” the department said in a statement.
It added that Ops Luxury will continue to be carried out statewide and is not confined to specific locations.
Sarawak RTD urged vehicle owners, particularly those with luxury cars, to ensure their road tax is valid and insurance coverage is in place before using their vehicles on the road.
