TEBEDU: A rural transformation programme (RTP) project involving the construction of a retaining wall at Ntangan Bung Ubah, Kampung Tebedu Bung Padus, has been fully completed, providing a long-term solution to soil erosion in the area.
Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem said the project reflects the government’s continued commitment to improving safety and living conditions in rural communities, particularly in areas prone to erosion and landslide risks.
While the erosion control project has been completed, other RTP initiatives for the village have also been approved and will be carried out in stages to further enhance infrastructure and community facilities.
Among the approved projects is the upgrading of Ntangan Bung Ubah (longhouse) with an allocation of RM150,000, which will be carried out by the Serian District Council.

A road construction project and site levelling works for the development of a football field in Kampung Tebedu Bung Padus have also been approved, involving an allocation of RM150,000.
Last Saturday (Dec 27), Riot attended a Leader with the People gathering and officiated the RTP retaining wall project as well as the Sejati Madani Programme at Dewan OKP Siden, Kampung Tebedu Bung Padus.
He also joined residents and community leaders in a Christmas celebration held in conjunction with the programme.
