PADAWAN: Rural infrastructure and worship facilities remain a priority in government development plans.

This is evident through the completion of the new SIB (BEM) Church building along with several public amenities in Kampung Biya Parang here.

Deputy Minister of Transport (Road and Aviation), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, said the initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the well-being of rural communities.

He said a total of RM860,833 had been approved under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for infrastructure development and the church in the village.

“The construction of churches not only signifies the strengthening of faith and unity but also serves as an agent of social transformation and spiritual education for the younger generation in rural areas,” he said at the opening of the church held recently.

The SIB (BEM) Church building, fully completed in 2023 at a total cost of RM345,000, was funded through RM245,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) and RTP grants from Dr Jerip and RM100,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR).
