KUCHING: The Sarawak 2025 Rural Women’s Leadership Seminar, themed ‘Inclusive Women, Progressive Villages’ and organised by the Sarawak branch of the Institute for Rural Advancement (INFRA), highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for rural women to grow and thrive.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang, said the seminar focused on access to education, skills training, and resources that can help improve the quality of life for rural women.
“We must ensure that no rural woman is left behind in national development simply because of geographical challenges or lack of access,” she said.
She said this when delivering her closing speech at the seminar at Imperial Hotel here today.
Rubiah also encouraged rural women to seize opportunities in entrepreneurship and modern technology to boost their household income.
The seminar further addressed issues related to women’s mental health and their rights under family law.
According to Rubiah, with the right support and knowledge, rural women are capable of creating more opportunities to enhance their standard of living.
“I am confident that this seminar has opened minds, strengthened spirits, and inspired all participants to move forward with confidence,” she added.
