KUCHING: The Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) will be holding its Bubur Lambuk Roadshow Programme at 61 locations across the State.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, said the organisation had successfully organised the programme without fail for the past 20 years and was entering its 21st edition this year.
“This is certainly a remarkable and proud achievement for SABERKAS, as it continues to strengthen the practice of charity, foster unity, and cultivate a spirit of mutual assistance, especially in the lead-up to the month of Ramadan,” he said.
He said this during the 2025 SABERKAS’ Bubur Lambuk Roadshow Programme held at Pehin Sri Haji Adenan Haji Satem Mosque in Lundu today.

About 500 packets of ‘bubur lambuk’ were distributed to the public and mosque attendees.
Abdul Karim, who is also the Asajaya assemblyman, said the annual programme had received strong support from all SABERKAS branches and would involve an allocation of RM91,500.
“This year, SABERKAS has increased the allocation for each branch from RM1,000 to RM1,500.
“This brings the total allocation to RM91,500 to ensure the smooth execution of the programme at all involved locations,” he said.
On a related note, he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to WEIDA Resources (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd for being one of the contributors to the programme.
“The company has increased its contributions annually, starting with RM10,000 in 2022, rising to RM20,000 in 2023, and now reaching RM30,000 for both 2024 and 2025.
“We are grateful to WEIDA Resources (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd for their contributions and commitment to welfare programmes like this,” he said.
He therefore hoped more corporate entities would come forward to support SABERKAS’ efforts in promoting activities held in conjunction with the Ramadan, and organising youth and community programmes in the future.
Abdul Karim said apart from the Bubur Lambuk Roadshow Programme, SABERKAS also assisted the community through the SABERKAS Prihatin programme, launched on March 8, 2021, which is still continuing today.
“The programme is not just about providing welfare aid but also serves as a platform for SABERKAS youth and leadership to engage more closely and effectively with the community,” he said.
“Therefore, I encourage SABERKAS branches to apply and subsequently give back to the community and those in need through the SABERKAS Prihatin programme,” he said.
He said SABERKAS would allocate RM410,000 for this programme and hoped it would help those in need within their respective areas.
“As of this week, 34 branches have applied for the programme,” he added.
