KUCHING: SACOFA Sdn Bhd has contributed RM2.93 million in business zakat to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) for the financial year 2025, reflecting the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare.
The zakat was presented by the Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications, who is also SACOFA Chairman, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, to the President of the Sarawak Islamic Council, Datuk Misnu Taha, at a ceremony witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, at Satria Pertiwi Complex here today.
SACOFA’s zakat contribution also reflects the company’s support for social welfare programmes in Sarawak. It aims to assist those in need and enhance community well-being.
This zakat contribution also fulfills SACOFA’s shariah obligations and demonstrates the company’s commitment to the socio-economic advancement of the ummah in Sarawak, particularly through education, welfare and community programmes led by TBS.
The 2025 zakat contribution shows a slight increase from the RM2.90 million donated in 2024.
