KUCHING: After nine long years, Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025-26 season, drawing the curtain on a glittering spell and beginning his goodbye with a heartfelt message to fans.

“Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥, it’s decided”.

The club confirmed the forward has reached an agreement to close out his time at Anfield, with the early announcement made out of respect for supporters and to provide clarity over his future.

Signed from AS Roma in 2017, Salah’s legacy is already etched among the club’s greatest. He helped deliver two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two EFL Cup wins and an FA Community Shield.

His numbers tell their own story, 255 goals in 435 appearances, third on Liverpool’s all-time list, alongside four Premier League Golden Boot titles.

Yet it was not the silverware alone that defined his journey.

“I never imagined this club, this city, this people would become part of my life… Liverpool is not just a football club, it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit as 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛”.

Salah paid tribute across the dressing room and terraces, a shared ride through glory and grind.

“We won most important trophies. We fought together through the hardest times of our lives. I want to thank everyone who was part of this throughout my time at Liverpool, especially the teammates past, present, to all the fans who made it special every single week”.

And then, to the Kop, where his bond ran deepest.

“I don’t have enough words, the support you showed me, to the best time of my career, you stood by me in the toughest times… it’s something I will never forget and something 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫”.

There is still a season to finish, targets to chase. The farewell, for now, is only beginning.

“Leaving is never easy as you gave me the best time of my life. 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮! This club will always be my home, to me and to my family. Thank you”.

“𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞”.
