KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Association of Churches in Sarawak, Samarahan Branch will hold its Christmas Parade and Celebration 2025 on Dec 7.
The event, hosted this year by the Kota Samarahan Baptist Church, is to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ through a meaningful evening of fellowship.
“This season reminds us of God’s boundless love and hope for humanity,” the association said in a press statement on Monday (Dec1).
The parade will begin at 6pm from St Francis’ Church Kota Samarahan, with church members taking to Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa towards Farley Kota Samarahan.
The celebration will continue at Farley at 8pm with a Christmas programme featuring music, community fellowship and the spirit of the season.
“Besides the singing of Christmas carols, there will be seven beautiful and colourful Christmas floats depicting the Nativity scene, angels, shepherds and sheep, wise men, and others.
“The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades and Pathfinders will also send marching bands to join the parade.
“We warmly invite everyone to join us in celebrating Christmas, a time for togetherness and gratitude,”it said.
“We hope this event will bring joy, unity, and the blessings of the season to all in Kota Samarahan,”it added.
The articipating churches are the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Methodist Church, BEM (SIB) Church, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Kota Samarahan Baptist Church, Gereja Presbyterian Malaysia, and Sarawak Reformed Presbyterian Church.
